Masters 8’s Rules

General:

This Tournament will be hosted by the Moruya Football Club at Gundary Oval in Moruya.

This Tournament will be played following the IFAB Laws of the Game with modification to game duration.. Number of players will be 8 v 8 with 4 reserves, i.e. a total of 12 players per team, with up to 16 players nominated per team maximum. This Tournament is for male and female players 16 years and over.

The tournament will be run using a pool system (The following rules and set up have been based on a 8 team tournament and the format may change to reflect registered team numbers, final rules and draw will be sent out closer to the day).

There will be an entry fee of $400.00 to help with costs of referee fees, match balls and prizes.

Teams entered need to be register on either the “PlayFootball” site or with “Dribl”, a copy of the photo I.D. sheet needs to be brought to the Tournament and handed to the officials on the day ONE HOUR prior to their first game.

Game duration will be 15 to 20 minutes each way with normal interchange of players. All interchange is to be conducted at halfway as per the Laws of the Game. Teams will be allowed a 5 minute half time break. Injury time WILL NOT BE ADDED ON.

Teams will play a minimum of 3 games. The tournament will be played in a Round Robin pools format and culminate in finals. The top two top placed teams in each pool play in the cup finals and the bottom two play in the plate final.

Scoring:

POINTS AWARDED: WIN = 3 Points; DRAW = 1 point, LOSS = 0 points. FORFEITS = 3 points & 3 goals to the non-forfeiting team.

In the SEMI FINAL ONLY, if the game is drawn at full time, the team who finished higher in the group phase proceeds through.

IN the FINAL ONLY, if the game is drawn at full time, 5 minutes each way extra time will be played with no half time break, just change ends. The “Golden Goal” rule will apply. If still a draw at the conclusion of extra time in the FINAL, a penalty shootout will be played.

A match sheet is to be completed for the first game only.

No. 5 Match Balls are to be provided by the Eurobodalla Football Association.
